Painting with Expression

Week 2: August 10-16
Instructor: Jolyn Fry
Class Material Fee: $60

About the Workshop

Along with practicing and learning about how to paint form, light, value, and compose creatively, we will also invite our intuition into the process and explore both gesture and mark-making. Most days, we will investigate color mixing and compare pigments and how to layer color. Abstract and representational painters welcome. Beginners welcome. Most exercises will be centered around observing and painting from life (still life, landscape), but your instructor is adept at abstract
painting, and if you prefer to paint without a physical reference, the lessons will be offered in a way that allows you to choose abstraction. Or, perhaps, to explore both. Every day we will remember there is more than one painting reality!
